This module provides students with the opportunity for detailed research and tuition within a specialized field of their choice. It thereby complements the other, broader modules being taken at the same time. It also provides for individual or very small group supervision. Following discussions with the student, the MLitt co-ordinator will appoint a supervisor. The supervisor will be responsible for helping the student find an appropriate topic; for bibliographic help; for holding regular meetings to allow discussion and feedback; and for expert assessment of written work, with the assistance of a second marker).
