Planned timetable:
This module requires students to analyse novels and films related to the Fascist period in order to gain an in-depth knowledge of this complex period of Italian history. We will look at issues relating to national identity, power construction, resistance to power and the construction and rejection of ideals of masculinity and femininity. Students will study novels by authors including Bontempelli, Masino, Levi and films by directors including Blasetti and Genina.
