This module presents key texts, authors and ideas from 1900 to the present day. Works of literature and cinematic art in this period emerge in the context of unprecedented shocks and traumas, ranging from the two World Wars and the Nazi era, to the legacy of German division and eventual reunification. Students will engage with representative works of literature and cinema from this period.
