This module lays the foundation for the study of German at university. In oral, writing and grammar classes, you will develop both communicative skill and your knowledge of German grammar. In weekly lectures and tutorials, you begin a survey of German speaking literature and culture. This semester covers German literature and culture from the post-war period after 1945, with the emergence of the divided German state, until the tumultuous events of re-unification in 1989.
