This interdisciplinary module is concerned with the diverse ways in which literature may serve as a text 'of' and 'for' theology. It will introduce students to a variety of theoretical approaches and then will focus on a range of key theological issues, which will be discussed in relation to a selection of 'great texts' from different genres and periods of literature, such as The Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost, Lyrical Ballads, In Memoriam, and Four Quartets.
