This module aims to develop students' ability to read the Hebrew Bible in its original language. The class will meet for three hours each week to translate and interpret selected passages in Biblical Hebrew in a variety of literary genres, with detailed analysis of the grammar of each verse, and careful exegesis of its meaning with reference to the insights of the major critical commentaries and other relevant secondary literature.
