This module will examine the letter to the Philippians, engaging in close exegesis of the Greek text and examining themes of Christology and soteriology as well as exploring the ethical import of these. The module will pay particular attention to the distinctives of Paul's public theology in the letter: how, according to Paul, are readers to be Christian in public in a potentially and perhaps actually hostile environment?
