The module investigates knowledge and skills needed to support people with learning disabilities as they get older and in their later years with respect to their social and health needs (including dementia) The course aims to improve the ability to assess social and healthcare needs and management of services in order to enhance quality of life and preserve individual rights as the person with learning disabilities gets older and to increase knowledge of the role and expectations of older family carers.
