The module investigates how mental health difficulties reveal themselves in people with learning disabilities and how they may be diagnosed. Also investigated, through evidence based practice: different types of mental health difficulties, a range of responses by front-line staff to such difficulties, methods of assessment and courses of treatment, residential and non-residential mental health services, and ethical and legal issues related to mental health difficulties
