This taster short courses provides a working introduction to the study of terrorism and political violence, by providing a brief summary of key topics and debates in the field. It is intended to provide an introduction to the types of subjects we study, and how scholars and experts have thought about key questions. In doing so it attempts to understand key questions on the definition of terrorism, the causes of political violence, the role of communication and how campaigns of political violence end.
