The end of degree project takes the form of a period of supervised research where you will explore a topic in depth. The project topic must be agreed by the student, supervisor, and module coordinator. You will show your ability to undertake sustained critical analysis, develop and improve your research skills, and produce an extended piece of written work that demonstrates a high level of understanding of your area of study. The portfolio allows you to present your research in a manner that emphasises your capacity to convey academic concepts in innovative ways suitable for different audiences. It also enables you to demonstrate your ability to produce professional multi-media outputs that communicate academic research in exciting and engaging ways. The portfolio is assessed by means of: (i) project report (30% of module grade); (ii) reflective essay (10% of module grade); (iii) 15 minute talk (10% of module grade); and (iv) approved multi-media components (50% of module grade). The approved multi-media components can be: (i) 30 minute film (50% of module grade) OR (ii) two other approved components - for example, a poster, podcast, website, training material (25% of module grade each).
