Availability restrictions: Priority will be given to first-year students. In the event that the module is over-subscribed, students not in their first year might be required to select an alternative module.

This module takes further the initial grounding in Chinese language and cultural history acquired in CN1001. Students will learn to converse simply, as well as to recognise and to reproduce in writing a further 300 or so characters, thus expanding their vocabulary to 600 characters and around 1000 words.
