This module will study linguistic, literary and cultural aspects of recent Arabic writing, by men and women writers from North Africa, the Middle East and the wider cultural margins of the Arab world. The module will include themes of exile, place and identity. Secondary readings will be in English and the module will include class discussion.

Pre-requisite(s): Undergraduate - Before taking this module you should pass pass AR3401 or AR3402 or have equivalent study abroad
