The module introduces students to Middle High German language and literature. Students will learn to read the medieval form of the language. They will also gain an overview of the flourishing German literature of the Middle Ages in its rich cultural context of chivalry, heroism and Christianity, focussing on key texts.

Pre-requisite(s): Before taking this module you must pass GM1002 or pass GM1004
