Digital Thinking in Politics and Society is one of two core modules designed for students in the first semester of the Global, Social and Political Thought programme. It seeks to bring students up to date with regard to the controversies that surround online identity and the conveying of information in a digital age, the precise means by which political argument is conducted online, and the way that online communication has shaped and continues to shape politics domestically and internationally. A major part of the module is concerned with the manipulation of news and the way that online facts and information have become part of the competition between states and corporations for economic and political supremacy
