SĀ°ren Kierkegaard is one of the most exciting and influential philosophers of the last 200 years. He was also one of the most original Christian thinkers of this same period. This module will explore the key themes in his thought that bear on the task of Christian theology. In particular, we shall consider his account of what it means to become a Christian and how this process takes place. In the course of this we shall consider his analyses of human freedom and responsibility, sin and despair, faith, love, passion and the imagination as also his profound and highly pertinent insights into Christology, revelation, prayer, and hermeneutics.
