Semester: 2
Planned timetable:
Comparative Studies in Legal and Constitutional Research provides a forum for students to develop, present, and write on a particular field or topic, drawing on methodological ideas from Semester 1 modules. Students will receive further guidance on the preparation and presentation (oral and written) of a research subject, including Masters' level argument-construction skills. They will then conduct research in their chosen field, as developed with guidance from those involved in teaching the module. Presentations to the whole class will provide not just feedback on the particular topic, but a forum for an exploration of the possibilities of comparison and comparative methodologies within legal and constitutional research. The module also provides preparation for the writing of dissertations; the research topic may lead into, but must be distinct from, that of the dissertation.
