Students will extend their study of prose writing and its techniques through discussion and critical and practical analysis. Emphasis will be given to exploring the wider possibilities of prose writing, with reference to the work of those contemporary or recent writers whose work defies easy categorisation, such as W.G. Sebald and John Haskell.

Weekly contact: 1 seminar and 1 practical class; tutorials by appointment

Assessment pattern

As used by St Andrews: Coursework = 100%

Re-assessment: One new submission equivalent in length and nature to the failed piece of coursework. The piece submitted for reassessment must be entirely new work.
