Key information

SCOTCAT credits : 30

ECTS credits : 15

Level : SCQF level 10

Semester: 2

Planned timetable: 10.00 am - 12.00 noon Fri

The twentieth and twenty-first centuries have seen a broad range of radical approaches to the task of making performance. This module will explore a range of these approaches, which may include physical theatre, theatres of cruelty, puppetry and mask, psychophysical performance and situationism. Through practical workshops, students will explore the intersections of theory and practice, developing their skills as both researchers and makers of performance. (Group E) Note: As this is not an acting course, students will not be graded on their performing abilities, but on their understanding of performance techniques.
