This module provides an overview of one of the most important recent developments in theology, namely, analytic theology. The latter borrows ideas, concepts, and ways of proceeding in theological discussion from analytic philosophy and capitalises on the field-changing developments that have taken place in Christian analytic philosophy over the last four decades. The specific topics it will consider will normally include a) God's relationship to time in the Christian interpretation of creation and incarnation; b) the nature of the human person engaging with dualist and materialist accounts; c) the significance of the doctrine of atonement for understanding the nature and conditions of forgiveness.
