Planned timetable:
The year-long dissertation offers students the possibility to engage in advanced independent study on a topic in Comparative Literature on which they already have adequate basic knowledge and for which a suitable supervisor, or supervisors, can be found. The dissertation will, as a rule, consist of a study of a given body of primary or theoretical texts analysed in a comparatist framework. The topic must be agreed in advance by the Comparative Literature Honours Adviser following a favourable report from the proposed supervisor(s). The dissertation length is 10 000 words and is normally written in English. In addition to individual supervision, training sessions are offered on research methods, academic writing, and presentation.
Pre-requisite(s): Before taking this module you must pass CO3002. Approval of the Comparative Literature Hons Advisor. "For students who have spend a semester abroad, CO3001 may replace CO3002"
Anti-requisite(s): Cannot take any other dissertation module
